ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS, AB (hereinafter ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS or the Company) takes the protection of your personal data seriously and seeks, by all available means, to safeguard your rights in relation to the processing of personal data. Data subjects — consumers of our products, partners and other individuals — entrust us with their personal information, and we are responsible for working every day to deserve that trust.

This Company privacy policy:

• defines the Company’s commitment and responsibility to protect and respect personal privacy;
• explains how the Company collects, uses and stores (processes) personal data;
• informs data subjects about how their personal data is processed and the rights available to each data subject.

When processing personal data, we comply with the Republic of Lithuania Law on Legal Protection of Personal Data, the Republic of Lithuania Law on Electronic Communications and other directly applicable legislation governing personal data protection, as well as instructions issued by competent authorities.

How do we collect your personal data?

We collect data:

• that you provide, for example when you communicate or have a legal relationship with our Company, buy products or services, subscribe to newsletters, participate in the Company’s marketing promotions or games, or contact us about product quality or to request information;
• that is generated when you use our website or social media accounts;
• that we receive from other sources, such as other service providers or publicly accessible registers.

You are not required to provide any personal data to ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS. However, if you choose not to do so, we may be unable to sell you products and/or services.

What personal data do we collect?

We collect data in the following categories:

• basic information, such as your first name, surname, personal identification number, date of birth, address, identity document details and contact details;
• data related to the provision of products and/or services, such as order details, invoicing, payment details, information about consent or refusal to allow personal data processing for direct marketing and disclosure to third parties, contact details and related records;

• video data recorded by our surveillance equipment when you visit the Company’s grounds and/or premises, to ensure the safety of staff, guests and premises;
• recordings of telephone conversations when you call the ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS quality helpline;
• other data collected with your consent and described in detail when your consent is requested.

How do we use your personal data?

ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS collects and further processes your personal data only on lawful grounds defined in personal data protection legislation: to conclude and/or perform a contract with you, with your consent, where applicable legislation requires ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS to process personal data, and where processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS, provided that the interests of the data subject do not override them.

ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS processes personal data for the following purposes:

Concluding and performing purchase, sale and service contracts; maintaining customer and contractual payment records; protecting creditors’ interests and preventing financial losses; recovering customer debts. We process personal data necessary to provide our services properly: to verify identity, accept and fulfil orders, provide customer service, identify and resolve faults and incidents, issue invoices for equipment and/or services, carry out credit control and debt recovery, handle complaints and similar activities.

Direct marketing.

• Ensuring the safety of staff, guests and other individuals within the surveillance area, and protecting property through video surveillance. We process video data of staff, customers and others within the surveillance area to protect their safety and property.
• Concluding and performing contracts; ensuring product quality; protecting and defending the Company’s rights and legitimate interests; gathering evidence through recordings of quality helpline calls. We process recordings of your calls to the ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS quality helpline and the data provided during those calls to ensure the quality of products sold and gather evidence for handling complaints. We also process emails or other correspondence you send to the Company and the data they contain in order to conclude contracts with you and ensure product quality.
• Other purposes for which ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS is entitled to process your personal data with your consent, for its legitimate interests, or where required by applicable legislation. We may process personal data for another purpose if we have obtained the data subject’s consent or are entitled to do so on the basis of legitimate interests.

How do we protect your data?

ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS continually seeks to maintain and improve organisational and technical security measures designed to protect the integrity and confidentiality of your personal data. Its security activities include protecting staff, information, IT infrastructure, internal and public networks, office buildings and technical equipment.

Who receives your data?

• Data processors (subcontractors) that provide services or carry out work for us and process your data on behalf of ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS as data controller. Processors may process personal data only according to our instructions and only to the extent necessary to fulfil their contractual obligations. When engaging subcontractors, we take all necessary steps to ensure that they also implement appropriate organisational and technical security measures and keep personal data confidential.
• Other third parties with your consent, which may be obtained for a specific case.

We may also provide your data in response to requests from courts or public authorities, but only to the extent necessary to comply with applicable legislation or a court order or warrant.

How long do we retain your data?

Information collected and its use

We use your email address to send newsletters about ŽEMAITIJOS PIENAS news, products, offers, events and similar matters.

After sending newsletters, we also collect statistics about whether you opened the email containing the newsletter. We use a technology known as web beacons: single-pixel images linked within the email or newsletter text. When you open the newsletter, the link is activated and we record that the image was opened and at what time. This allows us to recognise that you have read the newsletter.

Responses to your requests

You must submit any request or instruction relating to personal data processing in writing: (i) by delivering it directly or sending it by registered post to Sedos g. 35, Telšiai, LT-87101; or (ii) by sending it to info@zpienas.lt from the email address you previously provided to us.

Once we receive your request or instruction, we will respond and carry out the requested actions or decline to do so. Our response will be provided in writing.
